The Homestead is a Margate guest house offering guests luxury accommodation and breath-taking sea views.

Margate is a popular seaside town on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, about 135km from Durban (a drive of roughly an hour and twenty minutes) and 695km from Johannesburg (or just over seven and a half hours drive).

Weather in Margate

The South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, on which Margate is situated, is known as the Hibiscus Coast. It’s easy to see why – Margate has a wonderful sub-tropical climate; warm and sunny year-round, making it the perfect choice for a beach holiday or beach wedding, no matter what time of year.

A stone’s throw from Margate’s stunning Blue Flag beaches and centrally situated to Margate’s main attractions, The Homestead is the perfect place from which to explore all that the Margate and surrounds has to offer.

Walk to Margate beach, a safe, protected bathing beach, or take a short drive to one of the many other beaches nearby – Ramsgate; Shelly Beach, St Michaels-on-Sea and Uvongo.

Apart from sun and surf, there are shops, restaurants and pubs, diving, snorkelling and activities aplenty for adrenalin junkies.

If it’s simply rest and recuperation you’re after, chill out in your luxury beach accommodation – watch the ships cross the ocean, read a book or enjoy a cocktail on The Homestead’s fantastic balconies. Ah, that’s the life!
